Heidisql 11
HeidiSQL is a free and open-source administration tool for MySQL and its forks, as well as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL and SQLite. Its codebase was originally taken from Ansgar Becker's own MySQL-Front 2.5 software. Due to having sold the MySQL-Front branding to an unrelated party, Becker chose 'HeidiSQL' as a replacement. The name was suggested by a friend as a tribute to Heidi Klum,. Please download HeidiSQL For Mac from this link: Download HeidiSQL For Mac Disk Image. Mount the downloaded disk image, and drag the HeidiSQL-9.5-32bit-KPPDI App Bundle to Application folder alias. Workbench's user interface is regarded by a lot of users as unintuitive and hard to use. It seems cluttered and hard to get used to. The left side of the application has several sections (which you get to choose which to open) with several tools for each. HeidiSQL is not available for Mac but there are plenty of alternatives that runs on macOS with similar functionality. The most popular Mac alternative is DBeaver, which is both free and Open Source. Latest automatically compiled main executable and installers for HeidiSQL. Just download and overwrite your existing C: Program Files HeidiSQL heidisql.exe. Be aware that these builds are not official releases and therefore probably have more bugs, possibly serious ones.
I'm looking for database administration tools for MariaDB, I've used HeidiSQL on a PC and live this, but I understand it isn't available for a MAC.

There are numerous Mac OS clients for MySQL, all of which work for MariaDB, although you generally have to use SQL statements to use MariaDB features like virtual columns, etc.
First off, if you run a web server, you can use phpMyAdmin, which is nice because it will work on any platform that has a web browser. It has some quirks and has gotten slower over the years, so I don't use it very much now.

My favourite is Sequel Pro (http://www.sequelpro.com). It's free. I wish it could identify foreign keys with a tooltip, like phpMyAdmin does, but it at least gives you a link, so you're one click away.
Another one I like is Querious. (http://www.araelium.com/querious/) I would use it more often but for a silly reason: i can't remember its name! I think it costs something, but not very much. It has a nice boxes-and-lines graphical schema view that Sequel Pro lacks.
I also have downloaded other tools from the Apple Store, such as Toad, Metabase, LamaFree, and more. Most of them, I fire up, play with for a bit, then go back to my favourites above.
Hope this is helpful!
